SPLIT

Split is not only an American movie but also a psychological terror. This film tells us the story of Kevin –who kidnaps three teenagers after a birthday party, and who also encloses them in the underground of a zoo. At the beginning, it could be thought that the main character, Kevin, would take advantage of any of the three teenagers, however, this perception is changed when we get to know more about his life. The movie also shows us that he was suffering from a strange trauma since he was a little boy. This illness make him combine more than two completely different personalities inside his mind. One of these personalities represented a fashion designer who had meetings with a psychologist. She helped him in order to keep him emotionally stable with his alter egos.

The film kept us expectant during all its length. It has a lot of mystery-charged scenes which is an important key for this kind of movies. It is also a point that can be highlighted in this film. Because not only the mystery is just in a few parts, but also it is characterized by appearing in all the scenes. For instance, the strange conversations that Kevin and doctor Fletcher had, and how she could realize the disease that the main character suffered. She identified Kevin's disease thanks to the attitudes he had sometimes when he visited her.

Another aspect that we can emphasize of this amazing film is the great group of actors. They made a very good job interpreting their characters. We think it could get to be a challenge for them. After watching this film, we could also realize that the internal and individual work of each character is very complex. In the first place, each actor had managed what viewers expected after watching the trailer. However, there were some characters who stand out a lot more with their interpretations than others. For example, Carsey, played by Anya Taylor-Joy, she is characterized as a shy, thoughtful and quiet girl. She caught us because she had a totally different personality which we are not used to see in films. However, characters played by the other two girls were very common and without many emotions. Basically, they were insufficient personalities for this movie.

Another amazing character that we must emphasize is the protagonist interpreted by James McAvoy. He has many ways to be analyzed, but it is a complex process. The character that he interpreted is very difficult to understand. In some cases, it is difficult for specialists, too. Each personality that James McAvoy interpreted was well studied and worked, and it was also an amazing addition to the movie because it increased its quality level. It is incredible the ability that some actors have. They catch us and make us believe all the characters they perform in their careers.

Are you looking for a movie to while away the hours? Split could be a kind of long film; however, we believe that this movie is worth the effort because the actor’s quality and the scenes are the best combination. This is definitely a must.
