It should be noted that this is not a movie for people who feel intimidated about bad vocabulary. 

This movie tells us the story of a conservative family who travel to Stanford to get to know Stephanie's boyfriend, Ned Fleming and Barb Fleming's daughter. She invited her family from the Midwest in order to spend Christmas at California with her and her special boyfriend. The movie shows us Laird Mayhew's life, a grown man in his thirties, who also is a millionaire and a programmer by choice.

Moreover, this film shows the difference that exists between generations, what we mean is that Stephanie's father is an old-fashioned man and Laird Mayhew is a technologically-advanced boy with a lot of innovative ideas. We are able to see how generations get to be so different, yet after a while they can escape from that confinement and they are able to accept that new generations are the future.

Fact: this movie has many improvised scenes because the cast was given free access to improvise.

On the one hand, this movie is characterized by having many funny moments. Although, it is known that this is a comedy, there are others which are comedy movies as well, however they are not actually so funny. Why him? is a movie that did not disappoint us because everything we expect from its trailer. This film managed to combine the comic moments with the story behind each character.

What is more, the incredible selection of the actors was fundamental to keep our attention. James Franco, a famous scriptwriter, director, producer, actor, model, musician, and others, performs the lead role –Laird, he also tries to convince Stephanie's father that he is the perfect boy for his daughter by hints of humility, sympathy and sincerity.

Fact: James Franco painted many of the paintings in Laird's house.

In conclusion, we totally and completely recommend this film. Especially to those who enjoy movies and like to spend a funny afternoon or night, and finally, it will leave a beautiful lesson in your life, for example, you will learn that we do not have to judge before meeting people.
